JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical programs/initiatives/activities as well as providing day-to-day leadership, coordination and consultation to clinical staff and external service providers within a designated service area. Employee Wellness provides regional-wide counseling services and critical incident stress management services to Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Providence Health Care (PHC). The Manager plays a key role in the development, management, scheduling of staff, and dissemination of resource information directed at ensuring client satisfaction 24/7. Ensures effective coordination and delivery of services to clients and linkages to community and healthcare resources; acts as a resource for professional staff and external service providers; contributes to the development of an effective team-based work environment; and ensures adherence to professional standards. Manages the Employee Wellness Critical Incident Stress Management Program and/or clinical services program. Promotes excellence and professionalism in the delivery of all Employee Wellness services and ensures that all related activities are in compliance with departmental policies, procedures and professional standards. Carries a clinical caseload. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience • Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Educational Psychology or Marriage & Family Therapy plus a minimum seven (7) years’ experience in previous clinical work with a general adult population in individual, couple and family therapy including mandatory experience in workplace intervention, seminars, workshops, public/adult education, and confidentiality/ethics issues specific to an employee and family assistance program environment. • Previous experience with leading and/or supervising professional clinical staff required. • Work related travel requires valid BC Driver’s License and use of own vehicle. • Current registration with an applicable accredited professional organization required. Expertise: • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and inspire team members/others to set and achieve realistic and measurable goals that are in keeping with the vision, values and strategies of the organization. • Applies comprehensive knowledge of professional counseling, therapeutic abilities and knowledge of Employee Wellness clinical services and practices and uses exceptional listening and counseling skills to assess and attend to client needs. • Understands group conflict and workgroup issues and facilitates group interventions. • Applies and encourages knowledge of diversity issues and related sensitivities. • Facilitates, collaborates, influences and negotiates with a variety of internal and external stakeholders for effective resolution of Employee Wellness clinical & client service issues. Uses problem solving and critical thinking abilities to resolve. • Skillfully designs and presents educational workshops/seminars. • Promotes effective use of resources through identification of utilization issues and collaborates as required in issue resolution. • Maintains current knowledge of new developments, trends and research in EFAP clinical service delivery and recommends/implements best practices accordingly. • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
