Leadership Engagement is Key
As I reflect on this unit, the biggest take away for me is confirmation that leadership engagement is key. The most important part of driving any strategy is buy-in from the top. Just before I joined the company, there was an executive leadership team change. The opportunity to actively engage the new executive team will be a focus for me in Q1 of 2023.
This unit also confirmed that investing in employee well-being is a long game and results may not be tangible for several years to come, however there are ways of leveraging the results of others and reporting on the findings from studies that have been done to create a business case and demonstrate ROI.
Building a culture of wellbeing where we take an integrated approach providing employees with an opportunity to design what wellbeing looks like for them will create buy-in and ensure any programs are relevant and impactful. We will be using this approach as we update the wellbeing strategy by first going out and assessing what would make a difference for each team. Ensuring that the well-being strategy is embedded at the operational level will be key to our success.

This was one of my big takeaways too. I tend to skip this step because I assume if I'm asked to support a workplace, they already have done this. They haven't! :-)
