Critical Reflection 1: How to apply the knowledge learned, and what would you do differently?

If I were in the position of supporting workplace wellness and performance culture in a company, I would proceed as follows:

1. I will request the company the necessary information to understand the current situation of workplace wellness based on the four pillars.

- Business practices & management philosophy

- Physical environment safe

- Access to personal health resources to support the well-being

- Community partnership and environmental Social Governance

2. I will approach the workers to understand what they are experiencing, their perception, and their needs. By applying surveys, questionnaires, and/or individual appointments and visits to observe the environment and physical conditions of work.

3. Finally, the workplace wellness and performance project. Development with the initiatives and systems for tracking physical, physiological, and mental health and how these metrics affect performance. Integrating the different departments, leaders, and managers in the company to coordinate and work towards the same goal.

On the other hand, going back to the past where I was manager of a fitness facility (Workout for life Mexico), I will let my clients know how the company is responsible for the well-being and performance of the employees. We certainly got good team coordination and organization, reflected in our ability to retain the clients and deliver results. The employees were empowered and listened to promote creativity and work initiatives; this particular approach made this company from 2014-2017 unique in the service delivered.
