There's more to wellness...
My critical reflection for this unit is that there is more to “wellness” than meets the eye. As someone who has been in the field of Human Resources for decades, I’ve often regarded wellness as one of the disciplines that is relatively intuitive. That said, learning through this module has helped me to see how in depth the discipline can be. I appreciated the 13 Psychological Health and Safety Factors and the impact they all have on both the individual and the organization as a whole. I learned how organizations can establish wellness policies and practices that go beyond healthy lunches or movement challenges. Wellness is not something to be discounted and it’s certainly something I am interested in learning more.

Agreed. When our country is facing a national mental health epidemic which is costing over $200B annually, we not only have an opportunity but an obligation as employers, leaders and practitioners to take a deep dive in addressing the crisis by looking at how we can improve workplace health and performance.
