Critical Reflection - WWC00
The toolkit and standard was a game changer for me. Although I'm quite familiar with many of the concepts, it was through this course that I discovered that the Canadian government created a framework for businesses to use and it's the first of its kind. What a progressive and amazing resource for all Canadian organizations to embrace. I definitely plan on taking the free course.
Although I was already familiar with the 13 factors for psycholigical health and safety, the playlist of videos were incredibly helpful and a great resource to use in future. A theme that I recognized throughout all of the factors is communication. Thoughtful, clear and open communication is needed to implement all 13 factors.
I went into this knowing that mental health would be a big piece of this but also talking about physical health and the importance there: nutritious food/snack options, access to a gym or gym memberships etc., walking clubs or lunchtime yoga. All of these supports and resources for employees PHYSICAL health is needed as well.

I find those videos to be very helpful in framing the 13 standards in realistic workplace settings that we can apply. Our well being is all closely tied together; Our mental, physical and emotional well being impact one another. So, working together we can create change.
And proud to be a Canadian leading the way!
