CWHP-A Reflections: Unit WWC00

Small steps… You don’t need to reinvent the wheel.

When I think about the changes I’d like to make and the procedures I’d like to implement based on unit one, it can be hard to know where to begin or how to even get there. What I noticed over and over in this unit is the reminder that hey – it doesn’t have to be that hard. And most of all, it doesn’t have to be one person. Lean on people in your organization who hold various topics of knowledge, reach out to the stakeholders and partners who are doing this or have already done it. Take it one step at a time and continue to implement, practice, review, repeat. To do things differently, I will enact small, measurable changes as to not overwhelm myself or the organization – especially individuals who have been there for decades. I will continue to uplift, express gratitude, and invite people INto the conversation. When managing change or searching for solutions, I will look to build a case with evidence before attempting to get leadership buy in. Looking forward to baby steps + effective communication!

I completely agree that many small steps taken with colleagues can lead to big changes! It is important to keep working slowly and continually, taking one step at a time, towards our goal of creating respectful, inclusive, and healthy workplaces.
