"Now what" - have the direction, still feeling intimidated.

I was grateful for this unit in showing me what to do next. We heard that violence, workload, bullying/respect, moral distress are issues...and then it feels like Now what. Well, now we dig deeper. We ensure the leaders are ready for change. We do the root cause, we survey again. 

 

I want to meet with all the teams in the organization but it feels like a lot. Going to work with our Scheduling resource office to look for concerning trends, which units are struggling more, sick calls, trouble staffing, and get started there. Deep dive what’s happening there and scale. 

 

Will make a point to meet with and engage other units/departments, but will focus initial deeper dive on 2-3 units at this time. 

 

I'm nervous about doing a focus group, root cause analysis chat with the staff to learn their ideas for workload for example. I feel like ‘am I qualified for this?’. I think I may ask or PSHSA rep to come do one with me, do it scared, do it anyways and learn and grow.
