Building a Psychologically Safe and High-Performing Workplace Through Culture Assessment and Root Cause Analysis
Through this learning in this unit, I have developed a deeper understanding of how to effectively assess and analyze workplace culture using evidence-based tools and strategies. I now recognize that creating a healthy and high-performing workplace requires more than surface-level observations. It demands a holistic assessment of organizational dynamics, including hierarchy, management practices, and the broader socio-economic and political context.
One key takeaway is the importance of psychological safety and the impact of leadership style on employee well-being and performance. In strictly hierarchical or transactional environments where people-first philosophies are absent, employees often experience burnout, fear of speaking up, and lack of trust—all of which erode team cohesion and innovation. By applying root cause analysis, I can identify underlying issues, such as poor communication or lack of autonomy, and design informed, inclusive strategies that support both employee needs and organizational goals.
Moving forward, I will use assessment tools to gather stakeholder perspectives, analyze cultural indicators, and align workplace strategies with values of respect, flexibility, and continuous learning. This approach not only improves performance but also fosters a safe, equitable, and resilient workplace culture.

Hello! I too agree that stakeholder perspectives are key and should be measured among the assessment tools because their influence, albeit not under-researched, it is highly influential to fostering a healthier and higher-performing organizational culture.
