Week 2 reflection

I found this week very useful to developing a methodology to diagnosing a workplace with the goal of creating a relevant and impactful well-being plan. I used this unit to actually develop a diagnostic tool that can be used at an organizational level. I used some of the questions in the WW tool, but also added some of my own based on my experience. I also considered how we can use other data to support the process, and think it would be critical to look at claims data from health insurance plans, usage data from health spending accounts, and any other relevant insights that are coming out of employee engagement surveys.


The one key area that I would like to explore further is how to diagnose the needs of employees. This could include a review of the demographics of the company, paired with insights from engagement surveys and interviews with staff. It is important to understand why people are getting sick, and how to integrate preventative care into the employee well-being program.


The other thing I was considering is how we can make the audit/diagnostic process really easy for the company we support. How do we use data that is already available? How do we leverage any good work that they've already done to improve well-being?


There is lots more to learn and I look forward to increasing my knowledge in this area!

I agree! Finding out what employee's needs are is so important. How this can be done can look so different. I love the idea of using a survey as well as interviews.
