So what's next?
The opportunity to assess is always critical. I thought the timing of this unit was perfect as the company is undergoing a merger. However, easier said than done since there is a lot to prioritize from legal requirements to recruitment to training and continuous improvement. Nonetheless, one thing I kept in mind is that people come first. Hence, there is a need to support our employees during the transition period wherein we had the most perfect timing to balance people and the business. One thing that stood out is never to put the employees' wellness last. They will be a huge source so the business can continue to provide services. If I had to do our approaches differently, it would be to ensure that the right people get involved right away to provide timely support and have the programs implemented accordingly.
