What's In It For Me
What’s In It For Me
Recently, I have joined the Wellness Committee at work and am really looking forward to sharing the learnings from this program. One of the most impactful ideas was “What’s In It For Me.” This powerful idea struck me as a starting place for pulling a business case together for the Executives; what value can a Health and Performance committee bring to the company. This idea applies when initiating buy-in from all the levels of leadership, because there is a tendency to only look at the time away from daily tasks and the cost to production.
Recruitment to the Health and Performance committee would be easier and engagement higher if WIIFM was identified at the onset and perhaps could be an addition to the charter.
WIIFM could include paid time to participate in meetings, events and promotion. Recognition throughout the company and on performance assessments. Gift cards, seats in the company box for events, and an opportunity to attend events in a leadership role may entice Ambassadors.

Using all those perks to gather employee engagement is such a good idea! WIIFM is a great starting point to identify how to influence those target audiences. I love it!
