Inspiring People to get involved with what they believe in
Looking back on the Inspire, Engage and Integrate unit, what stood out to me is using a change leadership approach, inspiring employees to believe in the value of wellbeing and health and safety in the workplace, and empowering them to drive initiatives that they are passionate about. Our company does do this in several ways, one of them being for our Foundation where we have what we call our backyard teams. Anyone can champion initiatives in their own community that are meaningful to them. This means that they will be the leader of that partnership and take ownership of how we become involved. The company will allow backyard teams to work on coordinating Foundation initiatives and in turn the employee gives their own time volunteering. This creates a buy-in where the initiative champion believes in the initiative enough that they are willing to give their personal time to it.

Hi Sarah, it sounds like your organization is really inspiring employees to align their values with the Foundation and find what works best for them to create change. I like how employees have the autonomy to champion their own initiatives, and the organization whole heartedly supports this direction. It sounds like they understand the importance of buy-in at the employee level (which we all know how important this is at the stakeholder level) to support the ideals and values of employees.
