Becoming a Change Leader: Inspiring Change for KARA
Looking back at this unit, my key takeaway is the realization that I’m not just aspiring to make changes—I want to be a change leader. KARA has the potential for transformative, meaningful changes, but leading those changes effectively requires me to pause and focus on building a strong foundation. My priority moving forward will be to inspire and cultivate other change leaders who can work alongside me. This way, the work we do isn’t just my work—it’s KARA’s work, driven by a shared vision and collective effort.
The process of inspiring and engaging others weaves through all 13 pillars of Psychological Health and Safety (PHS), demonstrating that this work is fundamental to creating a thriving organization. What stood out most to me is the duality of change—it can happen quickly, with urgency and energy, but still requires thoughtful investment in people to ensure its sustainability.
I’m taking away a clearer understanding of how to intentionally foster leadership within my team while aligning our efforts with KARA’s overarching vision. This reflection motivates me to slow down, bring others along, and ensure that the changes we pursue are both impactful and lasting.

Hi Stasia, great post. I, too, was inspired by a better understanding of change leadership and the importance of vision. I really like your statement that the work you do isn't just yours - it's really the work of the whole organization and that collective effort is key. Thanks for sharing!
