If an initiative includes presenting the reply to “What’s In It For Me?” personal buy-in, and responsibility/accountability will be easier to gain! People are more invested when there is something at stake for them, so if they can see how beneficial an initiative will be for them personally, the efforts should align with their performance and participation to realize the goals or objectives.

I really like the "whats in it for me" approach it helps give everyone skin in the game when they can see the direct link to their role, contributions and impact. The challange at times is understanding what each individual may need or want, which can vary. Employee feedback and sentiments is crucial to drive intiatives that can have the most impact.
