Everyone has a stake/role in workplace health and wellness

As mentioned in one of my earlier responses, within the organizations that I have belonged to the term “stakeholder” was always attributed to individuals or organizations that were outside of my organization, such as external organizational or individual partners, funders, sponsors, interest groups etc. But this program has enlightened me to the fact that those within my organization are also ‘stakeholders’ as they have a significant stake in workplace health, wellness, well-being and performance initiatives, everyone in the organization will play a part and all will have accountability and responsibility in ensuring health and wellness within the organization. Working to ensure that everyone on the team has a clear understanding of the benefits of such a strategy and also their role in the strategy is extremely important in ensuring success. This is why I believe it is crucial to embed health and wellness responsibilities within the role and job descriptions of individuals on the team.
