Small Changes, Big Impact
Reflecting on this unit, what stood out was the emphasis on integrating health and performance strategies into existing systems rather than reinventing the wheel. I reflected on how easily I could get overwhelmed with the idea of rolling out new initiatives, such as implementing our COR Safety Program. This approach highlights the importance of simplicity, making change accessible and sustainable. I also realized the power of collaboration—engaging stakeholders early (primarily our third party vendors, contractors and employees) listening to their needs, concerns, fears and aligning strategies with their goals to ensure buy-in, accountability and higher likelihood of a successful change implementation.
Moving forward, I’ll focus on embedding small, impactful changes into daily operations, like tweaking policies or leveraging routine meetings to reinforce key messages. I’ll also prioritize critical reflection as an ongoing practice, ensuring strategies remain adaptive and aligned with evolving needs. This module reinforces that meaningful change doesn't always require new resources and hefty budgets but a thoughtful, inclusive approach.
