Changing culture one step at a time
The first level of the certification has been great – very informative. I learned that following the five-step guide is key with each step having some very important aspects to ensure are considered (stakeholder buy-in/engagement, assessment, communication, adaptability, small steps, long-term focus, etc.). Creating a culture of health and performance instead of trying to add in “programs” seems like less of a challenge to me now that I have these learnings. Since I have not attempted to implement a strategy like this before, these units have certainly better prepared me to do so in the future. I appreciate the abundance of resources from Wellness Works Canada and others that were provided during this level, which I can see myself using to refer to on a regular basis.
