Final Reflection: Engaged Leadership Matters
This course has been a goldmine of information! While we’ve done lots of good work in our organization, I can use so much of what I’ve learned to tweak some of my Wellness Strategy, change my perspective on certain elements, and start doing something new I hadn’t thought of before.
I think the biggest takeaways from the first level of certification have been:
1. The reinforcement that senior leaders are key to establishing sustainable wellness initiatives in our organization. And THAT means looking closely at performance and how it’s impacted by employee wellness (or illness).
2. The importance of speaking the “language of leadership,” which means data. While we do surveys, I’ve realized there’s so much more we can (and will) do.
3. I can drive the conversation, but I need participation at all levels to action the plan.
4. I need to create more opportunities for us to celebrate all we’ve achieved!!
I am so looking forward to the next chapter in my certification journey!

I also agree that finding/creating more opportunities to celebrate and praise our staff and employees is important because it reminds us all that we are only human and we care.
