Critical Reflection and take away

The five step process for a healthy foundation is the core of any health and performance strategy and I will come back to it often. Investing in employee benefits help sustain an organizations performance and well-being of employees. Although we understand the cost can be higher and they are long term goals, the other side of this is that employers see benefits from high net revenue over long term, better reputation as an employer of choice as we will look after our employees, higher productivity and build a great network of teams. My learnings for health and safety were that without proper programs and solutions to help manage this piece, it is difficult to be successful when full support is missing. Internal and external factors influence health performance as we have learned through the pandemic. Understanding the different dynamics and how things can shift with trends can change in a matter of days with our strategies. I hosted a presentation while working on this program and I learned that you had to be ready for everything and what you believe in or any negativity. Surveys tell us a lot about how employees are measuring the organization. This feedback should be used to make improvements to share with the employees and we can utilize survey’s more often. I implemented training as part of my root cause analysis for some challenges with meeting deadlines with our staff and we made significant progress by adding this to our summer sessions. VOI vs ROI has taught me from a finance perspective as well as from HR side to look at things differently as each measure has its positives. I blended the results which then helped us narrow the focus. Any type of celebrations to acknowledge small wins with staff is positive. I will be using some of these quick win ideas for doing quick win items for celebrations.
