Soaring with purpose
Looking back and reflecting on this unit what stood out most was definitely applying the SOAR technique. Why focus on threats and what's not working when you can focus and capitalize on your strengths, opportunities and what is going right. This builds positivity, engagement and energy instead of creating doubt, fear and negativity. I will definitely incorporate this thinking. Additionally, looking at hiring practices I would make some changes. I know in the past it has been whomever has the most impressive resume and most experience gets the job. However, there are many people with great resumes that don't perform well or are not a good fit and there are people who don't have the experience but they have the knowledge or amazing personalities that would fit in greatly with the team and have a great capacity to learn. I would change my hiring process to look more for a diverse work culture and great attitudes and less for credentials.
