CWHP-P Reflection: Unit WHPP04

My critical reflection of this unit is communication is key. Whether it's conflict resolution of obtaining buy-in on an idea or project, keeping involved stakeholders informed on all aspects of the project not only gives them the information they need but also builds trust that your goal is to take everyone's ideas, thoughts and feelings into consideration. People want to be heard. They want to know that they are valued and that can be demonstrated by shoeing empathy, by listening and by demonstrating the desired behaviour helps build an environment of trust and respect. Often in a leadership postion one feels like they have to conduct themselves in a higher manner. While this is true to a certain degree, showing that you are human and make mistakes lets people know that it's okay for them to make mistakes as well. Owning behaviour and moving forward helps foster a pshychologically safe workpace where employees feel free to share their set-backs as well as the wins. I want to work on being more vulnerable so as to help create that safe culture.
