CWHP-P Reflection: Unit WHPP05
Courage to stand alone as the lone-nut, it’s not forever
Gosh, this unit reminded me that its ok that I’ve been feeling like the lone-nut, and that it’s a good thing that I’ve had the courage to stand alone and challenge. I have started a movement, I have started to build my army, but I have lost momentum. I haven’t been sharing/celebrating/communicating all the small wins, we aren’t super clear on one vision/one goal – we have many, so we need to get more clear and aligned so all the wellness champions are rowing in the same direction.
I am also inspired to focus on connection and sharing about the HERO factors of Psychological Capital among wellness champions (Hope, Efficacy, Resilience, Optimism) so they can be the champions of hope, wellness, optimism and transformation in addition to the people leaders in their teams/departments. We have work to do, but it’s great to know we are not alone and we can…
PsyCap!!
The biggest ah-ha from this unit was PsyCap. I’m shocked that this hasn’t come up in any of my research for workplace wellbeing practices. It makes sense and I can see in my own self how I’m doing quite well on the HERO aspects, which aligns with my overall high level of wellbeing.
I’m excited to learn more about this and include it in my work moving forward.

Same here. Reading about it in Graham Lowe's book was the first I heard about it, I highlighted it and made sense, but really dug in here in the positivepsychology.com 101 article about it - I agree that I'd do quite well on it, but now my brain is all working on overdrive with how to share this and inspire my network of wellness champions to bring their PsyCap to the table so we rise together.
