Balance is Always the Right Answer
Looking back at this unit, please provide a critical reflection of how you will apply the learning. What stood out? What will you do differently?
What stood out to me in this section, and what I’ll use as a compelling argument to leaders, is the need for balance. Yes, personal balance for sure! But also organizational balance. What I’d like to show leaders is the importance of measurement and showing the connection between performance and well-being (left-brain!) but balancing that with the “Dancing Guy” video (right brain!). In 3 minutes he DEMONSTRATES true leadership by role modelling, showing vulnerability, supporting the cause (rather than he as the leader, leading it) and trusting that (somehow, somewhere) there will be a first follower that will lead to a tipping point of followers. It’s all about balance!
