Lead from behind

What really opened my eye was the webinar on managing mental health through disruption. Some of those statistics are mind blowing. A culture of health has up to 5x higher revenue growth, 6x employee growth, 10x stock price and 700x net revenue growth. Culture really does eat strategy for breakfast! so my biggest learning is to focus on culture and the driving determinants of it. With psychological safety being the number one determinant of team effectiveness, I believe investing time and resources into this area needs to be a primary focus for all companies if they want to be successful and foster a culture of health. I used to think of a leader as the one in front, showing how it's done. I now have a different perspective. Leaders encourage their employees to be creative and share their ideas. They encourage them to speak up and challenge processes and ideas. They ask the right questions to allow for healthy discussions and reflection. They believe in their employees and truly want them to live up to their potential and thrive. Lastly, they are there to pick them up and stand by them if they fall. So like the quote said" to lead people, walk behind them.
