OPPORTUNITY: The Executive Director, Occupational Health & Wellness Services reports to the President & CEO, and is responsible for the strategic planning, development, leadership, execution and evaluation of initiatives in the areas of Attendance Support, Workplace Wellness and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) for BC’s public health care sector. The Executive Director will develop partnerships with a full range of stakeholders including Affiliate member employers, Health Authorities, Unions and a range of agencies including but not limited to WorksafeBC, SafeCare BC, and benefit providers. The successful candidate will bring leadership, vision, strong relationship skills and superior communication abilities to the role. A strong ability to develop partnerships and build consensus is important for success. While a deep understanding of the field would be preferred, strong leadership skills are essential. Understanding the operational realities of the health care sector would be an asset. Along with a Master’s level of education in a relevant area, you have 10+ years’ experience in progressively more complex leadership roles. You have a proven ability to operate as a strategic business partner, build partnerships, reach consensus, set vision and direction. You have a solid history of implementing successful programs and can influence and negotiate sensitive situations and relationships. We also have a key role in the negotiation of the BC Physician Master Agreement and work closely with the Doctors of BC, the Ministry of Health and the Health Authorities on a range of physician related issues.
